Harris Danial Zaki bin Ahmad Tajuddin grew up in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, where he spent his childhood watching Selangor FC from the Shah Alam Stadium terraces and recording match commentary into a cassette recorder. That early obsession with sport and storytelling led him to the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at Universiti Malaya, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Mass Communication in 2004.

His journalism career began at Berita Harian, where he covered the Malaysia Super League beat for four years before joining The Star as senior sports writer in 2008. It was at The Star that Harris first followed the emerging ONE Championship circuit, recognising early that Malaysian MMA was entering a golden era. His deep coverage of the early Malaysian contingent at ONE earned him a reputation as one of the most knowledgeable combat sports voices in the country.

From 2013 to 2017, he served as regional correspondent for the Asian Sports Media Consortium in Singapore — covering two Asian Games, three SEA Games editions, and multiple AFF Championship campaigns. He returned to Malaysia in 2017 and spent three years as a freelance contributor to ESPN Asia, The Malay Mail, and Utusan Malaysia.

In 2020, Harris launched mmaresolutions.com — built on the belief that Malaysian sport deserves sharper, more credible journalism. The site's editorial philosophy places equal weight on performance and wellness: Harris has long believed that understanding how athletes look after their bodies is as important as reporting what they achieve. Sports health has become the site's fastest-growing section.

Harris is based in Subang Jaya with his family. He speaks Bahasa Malaysia and English, with basic Mandarin picked up over years of reporting on Chinese-speaking athletes across Southeast Asia. He can be reached at harris@mmaresolutions.com.
